Review: 2018 Nissan Pathfinder

The Pathfinder is equipped with a 3.5-liter Direct Injection gasoline DOHC V6 engine, mated to an Xtronic continuously variable automatic transmission. The powertrain makes 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, and comes with the option for all-wheel drive. If you've got recreational equipment to haul, you'll be happy to know the 2018 Pathfinder can tow up to 6,000 pounds no matter which trim you choose.

This Nissan SUV comes standard with Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, and Brake Assist for traversing hilly terrain, and Dual Flow Path shock absorbers and electronic hydraulic power-assisted steering to keep you comfortable and in control. Comfort and Convenience

The 2018 Pathfinder comes in four trims: S, SV, SL, and Platinum. Each trim has seating for eight passengers and features Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control and the EZ Flex Seating System featuring Latch and Glide for easy access to the third row. The Pathfinder S features an adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support, third-row 50/50 split fold-flat rear bench, cloth trim, leather-appointed door trim, and piano black interior trim. The SV adds an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

The Pathfinder SL has a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat with 2-way lumbar support, seat and mirror memory, leather-appointed seating, heated front row and rear outboard seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Platinum trim adds steering wheel position memory, perforated leather-appointed seats, climate-controlled front seats, and wood-tone interior trim.

Safety and Tech

Each trim features an Advanced Drive-Assist Display, RearView Monitor, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System. The Pathfinder is available with a Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Around View Monitor, and rear sonar system.

Standard entertainment features include Sirius XM Radio, HD Radio, auxiliary and USB input, and Bluetooth wireless tech and streaming audio. If you choose an upper trim, you'll enjoy a Bose Premium Audio System with 13 speakers and Acoustic Waveguide technology. For long road trips, you can also opt for the Tri-Zone Entertainment System with dual headrest-mounted 8-inch monitors, remote control, and two wireless headphones.
